D.C. Federal Judge Affirms Denial Of Graduate Doctor Training Medicare Payments

WASHINGTON, D.C. - A District of Columbia federal judge on April 17 affirmed an administrative order by Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius denying the payment of fees under Medicare for graduate medical education (GME), saying the plaintiff hospital failed to have a contemporaneous agreement in place with the off-site training facility regarding payment for dental residents (University Medical Center Inc. v. Kathleen Sebelius, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, No. 11-260, D. D.C.; 2012 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 53395).
