10th Circuit: Reliance On Record Reviews, Vocational Analysis Was Reasonable

DENVER - An ERISA-governed disability insurer that relied on record reviews and a vocational assessment in its decision to terminate benefits to a claimant with depression and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) acted reasonably, the 10th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals ruled May 8 (Mazen Eissa v. Aetna Life Insurance Co., No. 11-3273, 10th Cir.; 2012 U.S. App. LEXIS 9309).
