Federal Judge Confirms $2.7 Million Interest Award Issued Against Peru

WASHINGTON, D.C. - After finding that the Republic of Peru failed to submit new arguments in opposition to confirmation of an international arbitration, a District of Columbia federal judge on Nov. 19 entered an order confirming a $2,740,218 award on interest issued in favor of an investment firm (Duke Energy International Peru Investments No. 1 Ltd. v. Republic of Peru,  No. 11-1602, D. D.C.; 2012 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 164468).
