Family Dollar Granted Summary Judgment On Former Manager's Claims

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - No reasonable jury could find that a store manager for a national discount retailer was improperly classified as exempt from overtime pay because his job meets all of the tests under federal law for an executive exemption, a North Carolina federal judge held Nov. 27 in multidistrict litigation involving unpaid overtime claims against the retailer (Irene Grace v. Family Dollar Stores, Inc., No. 3:08-md-1932, [Irene Grace v. Family Dollar Stores Inc.,  No. 3:06-cv-306], W.D. N.C.; 2012 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 168048).
