Environmental Suit Stayed; Remand Not Appropriate, Louisiana Federal Judge Says

NEW ORLEANS - Because an insured seeking damages for environmental cleanup costs filed a parallel state court suit, remand is not appropriate, a Louisiana federal judge said Jan. 31 in staying the federal suit until the state suit is resolved (Bollinger Shipyards Inc., et al. v. Chartis Specialty Insurance Co., et al., No. 12-1013, E.D. La.; 2013 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 13187).
