Federal Circuit Vacates Sanction Award In Patent Dispute

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Although a North Carolina judge properly found that various aspects of a patent infringement plaintiff's conduct was sanctionable, the case must nonetheless be returned for a determination of whether the case qualifies as exceptional, the Federal Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals ruled June 7 (Precision Links Inc. v. USA Products Group Inc. et al., No. 12-1461, Fed. Cir.).
