Judge Remands Cruise Line Worker's Claims, Finds No Foreign Connection

TAMPA, Fla. - After finding a lack of a connection to a foreign state in a cruise line worker's employment agreement, a Florida federal judge on June 18 refused to compel arbitration of her injury-related claims against her employer and remanded the case to a state court (Tashe Smith Varga v. Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., No. 8:13-cv-00198, M.D. Fla.; 2013 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 86174).
