Class Certification Denied In 2 Cases Seeking To Halt Chicago School Closures

CHICAGO - An Illinois federal judge on Aug. 9 denied class certification in two suits that accuse the Chicago Board of Education of harming students by choosing to close 49 elementary schools before the 2013-2014 school year begins (Mandi Swan, et al. v.
