Judge Orders Injunctive Relief Against Reinsurer In Arbitration Dispute

DETROIT - A federal judge in Michigan granted a motion for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction to a group of insurers on Sept. 12, finding that the insurers will suffer irreparable harm if an arbitration between the insurers and their reinsurer is not paused to examine allegations of ex parte communications between certain arbitrators (Savers Property and Casualty Insurance Company, et al. v. National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, PA, No. 13-cv-13807, E.D. Mich.; 2013 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 130379).
