S.C. High Court: Insurer Had Duty To Indemnify Construction Defect Claims

COLUMBIA, S.C. - A commercial general liability insurer had a duty to indemnify a now overturned jury verdict against an insured stemming from damage tied to construction defects in billboard signs because the defects arose from an "occurrence," the South Carolina Supreme Court held Sept. 25 (Auto-Owners Insurance Co. v. Samuel W. Rhodes, et al., No. 27316, S.C. Sup.; 2013 S.C. LEXIS 248).
