Federal Judge Enters Default Against Debt Collector

ORLANDO, Fla. - A federal judge in Florida on Oct. 21 granted in part the motion for entry of default judgment to a consumer who alleged that a debt collector violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) via "disturbing, harassing" phone calls that "had the effect of making Plaintiff feel concerned and suspicious about answering the telephone" (Debi Walker v. Ruben & Rosenthal Inc., No. 13-0798, M.D. Fla.; 2013 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 150848).
