Insurance Broker Had No Duty To Renew Insurance By Non-Insured, Justice Says

NEW YORK - An insurance broker owed no duty regarding requests to renew insurance to a party that hired a management company to maintain insurance on a maritime vessel that suffered damage during a terrorist attack, a New York justice ruled Oct. 21 (Sea Trade Maritime Corp. v. Marsh USA Inc. as successor of Johnson & Higgins, No. 602648/2002, N.Y. Sup., N.Y. Co.; 2013 N.Y. Misc. LEXIS 4688).
