Federal Judge Denies Former Bank Officer's Motion To Dismiss

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - A federal judge in Puerto Rico on Nov. 22 denied a former Westernbank Puerto Rico officer's motion for a judgment on the pleadings in a suit in which the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. made claims against the failed bank's former executives related to an alleged $3.6 million fraudulent transfer, disagreeing with the former officers that the FDIC's claims were not timely filed (W Holding Company Inc., et al. v. AIG Insurance Co. - Puerto Rico, et al., No. 11-2271, D. Puerto Rico; 2013 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 167220).
