Magistrate Judge Sets Aside Default Judgment Against Student Loan Debtor

OAKLAND, Calif. - A federal magistrate judge in California on Dec. 19 granted a student loan debtor's motion to set aside a judgment against her, finding that she has shown that the government's service of notice of its suit against her was not proper (United States of America v. Clarinda Cannon, No. 11-6461. N.D. Calif.; 2013 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 178508).
