No Coverage Due For Expenses Related To Cost Of Controlling Oil Spill

NEW ORLEANS - A Louisiana federal judge on Jan. 3 determined that an insurer owes no coverage for the expenses related to an insured's attempts to control a crude oil spill because the policy at issue clearly precludes coverage for costs associated with the control of a spill (State National Insurance Co., et al. v. Settoon Towing LLC, et al., No. 07-1263 c/w 07-4230, E.D. La.; 2014 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 396).
