Law Firm Cannot Recoup Settlement Payment To Insolvent Insurer, Court Finds

HARRISBURG, Pa. - An estate for the founder of a law firm and other lawyers associated with the firm cannot recoup $75,000 paid to an insolvent insurer as part of legal malpractice settlement, the Pennsylvania Superior Court affirmed Jan. 9 (Pennsylvania Property and Casualty Insurance Guaranty Association v. National Union Fire Insurance Co., et al., No. 1168 EDA 2013, Pa. Super.).
