Mealey's PI/Product Liability - Judge Finds Jurisdiction In Malpractice Case Against Mississippi Asbestos Lawyers

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Two lawyers' contacts with South Carolina during asbestos litigation put them on notice of the possibility that they could be sued in the state and gives the state personal jurisdiction over legal malpractice claims against them and their firms, a federal judge held March 21 (Odell Parker, et al. v. Asbestos Processing LLC, et al., No. 11-1800, D. S.C., 2014 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 37336).
