CHICAGO - A stipulation by the lead named plaintiff in a class complaint that the amount in controversy is $3.5 million can't keep a case in state court, the Seventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals ruled April 9 (Michael B. Johnson, et al. v. Pushpin Holdings, LLC, et al., No. 14-8006, 7th Cir.; 2014 U.S. App. LEXIS 6554).
