Mealey's Toxic Tort/Environmental - Chevron: Nonparties May Not Intervene In RICO Action Against Patton Boggs

NEW YORK - Chevron Corp. on June 9 filed a brief in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York opposing the attempt of nonparties to intervene in the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act lawsuit it filed against the attorneys and consultants who represented plaintiffs associated with a woman who sued Chevron's predecessor Texaco Inc. in 1993, alleging that Texaco had caused environmental contamination and personal injuries in Ecuador (Patton Boggs v. Chevron Corp., No. 12-9176, S.D. N.Y.).
