Mealey's Banking & Finance - Federal Judge Finds Homeowner's TILA Claims Against Banks Are Time-Barred

RICHMOND, Va. - A Virginia federal judge on Aug. 1 granted a group of banks' motion to dismiss a homeowner's action against them in relation to the foreclosure sale of her house, finding that her claims for violation of the Truth in Lending Act (TILA) were time-barred and for failure to state a claim (Elizabeth Streza v. Bank of America, et al., No. 3:13-CV-573, E.D. Va.; 2014 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 105915).
