Deborah Smith practices law in Helena, Montana. She is also an adjunct professor at the University of Montana School of Law, where she teaches immigration law. Ms. Smith's practice focuses on removal defense and related litigation, asylum, family-based immigration, nonimmigrant admissions, and employment-based immigration. She lectures and writes regularly on immigration matters, and has been recognized as an expert in state and federal court. Ms. Smith is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and serves on its Amicus Committee. She previously has chaired the Advocacy Committee of the Washington chapter of AILA. Ms. Smith earned her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
