Tax Reform? Just Don’t See It

So let me see if I have this right. If you allow the so-called Bush tax cuts to expire, which they were designed to do, it's a huge tax increase (the GOP). If you allow the temporary cut in payroll taxes to be temporary, it's a huge tax increase (President Obama).

And this stuff works, depending on who you represent and which TV channel you're watching.

The politicians talk about tax reform all the time. But if you believe as I do that this wreck of a tax system badly needs repair - if not replacement - and that revenue neutrality is not a principle of tax reform, and that any tax reform must increase revenue to at least get this country back to a shell of its former self, then that means we as citizens must accept that income taxes are going to have to increase for all of us....
