More on EnergyOwen Anderson is a nationally respected energy law expert and co-author of LexisNexis' seven-volume treatise Kuntz, A Treatise on the Law of Oil and Gas (1996 to present) and a contributing author to Water and Water Rights, Second Edition (2001). He is the editor/co-author of the second edition (2000) and co-author of the first edition of International Petroleum Transactions, and the author of numerous articles published in legal publications.
He also serves as editor-in-chief of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators Model Well Service, Model Seismic Acquisition and Master Serve Contracts Project (2000-present); and on the board of editors for the Oil and Gas Reporter (1989-present), Texas Title Examination Standards (1992-present) and various other legal publications.
Anderson is the Eugene Kuntz chair and past professor of Oil, Gas & Natural Resources at the University of Oklahoma Law Center, as well as the principal research fellow and honorary lecturer in petroleum and mineral law and policy at the University of Dundee's Centre for Energy. He is also on the senior specialist's roster of the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board and is a member of several boards within the Sarkey Energy Center at the University of Oklahoma. He was previously the acting director of legal research and writing at the University of Oklahoma College of Law (2002-2003) and a research fellow at the Canadian Institute of Resources Law (1984).
Anderson's honors include receiving the distinguished service award for his work as editor-in-chief of Texas Title Standards, Builder of the Profession award from the University of North Dakota School of Law (1999) and the John Rogers Award from the Southwestern Legal Foundation (1999). He is also the recipient of the Outstanding Law
Professor award from the University of Oklahoma Students' Association (1994-1995)
and the Edward McDermott Award for excellence in teaching and research from the University of North Dakota (1987).
