Bergman on New York Mortgage Foreclosures (1990), as well as more than 260 articles on mortgage foreclosure, real estate and construction law. He also writes regular columns on mortgage foreclosure in both the
New York Law Journal and the
New York Property Law Journal and serves as a consultant to the
New York Times on mortgage law.
In addition to his writing, Bergman serves as an adjunct associate professor of real estate at New York University's Real Estate Institute, a faculty member of the Mortgage Bankers Association of America's School of Mortgage Banking and a special lecturer on law at Hofstra Law School. He is also a partner of the law firm Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, LLP.
Bergman is a former deputy Nassau County attorney and deputy bureau chief for special litigation, as well as a past director and four-term chairman of the Real Property Law Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association. He is also a former associate dean of the Nassau Academy of Law and city councilman for Long Beach, NY.
