David Collins is LexisNexis' internal practice area expert for labor and employment, bankruptcy, and banking product lines in large law firm markets. He is responsible for the publication of Lexis Banking Bulletins and LexisNexis Hot Topics. Additionally, he is the ghost author of Law Firm Evolution.Merger Mania.
He has also served as senior product manager for LexisNexis' online content development group, senior consultant and legal research consultant to the customer support division. He is the recipient of LexisNexis' 2004 Great Performers Award for most tenacity, 2003 Great Performers Award for boundarylessness, and 1999 Outstanding Achievement Award for retrospective state case law initiative.
Prior to joining LexisNexis in 2001, Collins conducted research and planned litigation strategy in the areas of bankruptcy, employment law, insurance defense, business, probate, and domestic relations for Rieser & Marx in Dayton, Ohio. In recognition of his work, he received the 1993 Outstanding Lawyer Award from the Greater Dayton Volunteer Lawyer's Project. He also previously worked as the assistant director of admissions at the University of Akron, School of Law in Ohio.
