Widely recognized as one of the foremost theatre lawyers in the United States, Donald Farber is the general editor and author of the theatre volumes of the ten-volume Matthew Bender publication Entertainment Industry Contracts. He is also the author of seven other books, including Common Sense Negotiation - The Art of Winning Gracefully; From Option to Opening; Producing on Broadway; Actor's Guide: What You Should Know About the Contracts You Sign; Producing, Financing and Distributing Film and Producing Theatre: A Comprehensive Legal and Business Guide.
In addition to his writing, Farber is of counsel at Jacob, Medinger & Finnegan, LLP, where he represents theatrical productions, actors, actresses, directors, producers, authors, theatre owners, repertory companies, films and other creative arts worldwide. He has also been on the faculty of universities and continuing legal educational institutions, including Hofstra University School of Law, York University in Canada, the Practicing Law Institute and the New School for Social Research.
