Cosmopolitan Life Insurance Company v. Jordan and Moore

Arthur Moore was found dead with a single bullet wound in his chest only minutes after visiting an ATM and speaking to his mistress, Amy Jordan, on the telephone. The case involves a dispute between the decedent's mistress and his wife over who deserves the funds from a life insurance policy. Cosmopolitan Life Insurance Company has filed an interpleader action and deposited the proceeds from the life insurance policy with the clerk. There are four witnesses for both Sandra Moore and Amy Jordan. The companion criminal case file, State v. Jordan, involves the alleged murder of Arthur Moore by Amy Jordan.

    • Andrew P. Rodovich is the United States Magistrate Judge for the Northern District of Indiana, Hammond Division. He is also an adjunct professor at the Valparaiso University Law School. From 1979 until 1982, Judge Rodovich served as chief deputy prosecutor for Lake County, Indiana. Prior to that he worked in private practice at the firm of Hand, Muenich and Rodovich and had been a referee at the Hammond City Court, Hammond, Indiana. He graduated (with distinction) from the Valparaiso Law School and from Valparaiso University (Pi Sigma Alpha). He is a member of the Indiana Bar Association, Lake County Bar Association and the Federal Magistrate Judges Association.
