In order to bring you the latest insights on Usage-based Insurance (UBI), LexisNexis conducted research studies for the past four years on the consumer market. This year’s study has been expanded beyond consumers to also include small fleet managers.
The 2014 Annual LexisNexis UBI Study was conducted with 2000 consumers and 409 small fleet managers and yielded interesting results, some of which included:
- Overall consumer awareness of UBI has plateaued, but demand continues to increase
- Value-added services can be offered in lieu of higher discounts to generate a similar level of demand
- Small fleets have less awareness but greater demand for UBI
