LexisNexis® Presents Keynote Address at the World Congress 2nd Annual Leadership Summit on Predictive Analytics
New York, NY – LexisNexis Risk Solutions will co-present the keynote address with James G. Sheehan, former Medicaid Inspector General of New York State, at the World Congress 2nd Annual Leadership Summit on Predictive Analytics Aug.1-3 in Boston, Massachusetts. Advanced analytics are changing the way health care enterprises detect and prevent fraud. The presentation will address proactive versus reactive fraud and abuse detection.
LexisNexis and the New York State Office of the Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG) have joined forces to explore ways to leverage and refine the use of predictive and social networking analytics to enhance fraud detection and prevention by conducting a pilot program that utilizes data and investigative resources from OMIG and the LexisNexis high performance computing platform-based Social Network Analysis.
The opening keynote address will:
- Discuss how to identify fraud proactively using cutting edge predictive and social network analytics;
- Provide insight into how leveraging intelligence in your claims database with advanced analytics and public data can reveal hidden relationships between providers and recipients as well as identify suspect claims patterns that rules based systems miss; and
- Discuss the results of the LexisNexis/OMIG pilot project as well as next steps toward refining the process and making it repeatable across the largest number of potential scenarios.
Both commercial and state government health care agencies are under enormous budget constraints and deploying advanced fraud detection and prevention strategies can help ease that burden. LexisNexis applies numerous data sources and cutting-edge analytic solutions that help health care organizations move fraud detection and prevention to the front-end of the claims workflow; resulting in fewer improper payments and better use of investigative resources.
“We are excited to be co-presenting the opening keynote address with Mr. Sheehan, Medical Inspector General of New York State at the World Congress 2nd Annual Leadership Summit on Predictive Analytics,” said Harry Jordan, vice president of health care for LexisNexis. “LexisNexis is delighted to be working with the New York State Office of the Medicaid Inspector General to test new methods for identifying and investigating health care fraud.”
