LexisNexis® Addresses Government Collections and Costs at Upcoming IAAO, MAILCOM and GRCA Conferences 9/6/2012

Sessions Including ‘Collections Hide and Seek’ and ‘How to Locate Delinquent Taxpayers’ Help Government Agencies Increase Collections and Lower Mail Costs

LexisNexis® Risk Solutions today announced that Scott Straub, Market Planner for Government Collections, will participate as a speaker at three upcoming conferences: MAILCOM 2012, the IAAO 78th Annual Conference on Assessment Administration and the Government Revenue Collection Association (GRCA) 2012 Collector Training Conference. Mr. Straub will focus on how government agencies can lower costs associated with returned mail, increase collections of delinquent receivables by leveraging identity-based solutions to maximize active and passive debt collection.

  • SESSION: Using Public Records to Improve Operational Efficiencies and Effectiveness by Leveraging Data to Locate and Contact Delinquent Taxpayers and Reduce Costs Associated with Returned Mail

    1:30pm-3:00pm: Mr. Straub will discuss the three phases of collections, the costs associated with governments’ returned mail processes and real world examples of how agencies have leveraged external data sources in conjunction with internal sources to increase operational efficiencies in collections and return mail processes.

  • WHEN: September 19, 2012

  • SESSIONS: Collections Hide and Seek 9:30am-10:30am: Mr. Straub will participate in a panel discussing skip tracing. The panel will focus on the most effective ways to turn skips into paying accounts to include the latest tools available in the market, re-evaluating skip tracing methods and best practices for skip tracing.

    Offset Programs 1:00pm-2:00pm: Mr. Straub will participate in a panel discussing how government agencies can benefit from using external data sources to increase collections through offset programs.

Mr. Straub develops new products and identifies opportunities for existing products to increase the operating efficiencies and effectiveness in revenue discovery and revenue recovery across federal, state and local governments. Prior to joining LexisNexis, he was employed at the Financial Management Service (FMS), where he was instrumental to the implementation of industry best practices in collection processes, specifically delinquent debt owed to the federal government. Additionally, he was part of a team that drafted a feasibility study to repurpose a payment center to a debt collection center.
