The Law of Succession by Gino Dal Pont and Ken Mackie contains an up-to-date account, commentary and analysis of the Australian law of succession. Although history cannot but colour the modern law, the Law of Succession avoids an overtly historical focus and instead targets what is most pertinent in modern Australian succession practice and theory. Gino Dal Pont is Professor, Faculty of Law, University of Tasmania. He is a graduate of the University of Tasmania (LLD) and the University of Michigan (LLM), and is admitted to practice in New South Wales, as well as a Certified Practising Accountant. He has written widely in the areas of the legal profession and equity and trusts, in particular, including three books in the LexisNexis "black and silver" series. Professor Dal Pont is also General Editor of Halsbury's Laws of Australia, author of the New South Wales Solicitors Manual, and a regular columnist on legal ethics issues. His teaching involves professional responsibility, trusts and tax.

Ken commenced his academic career as a Tutor in Law at the University of Tasmania in 1974, was promoted to the position of Lecturer in Law at the same institution in 1977 and was again promoted to his current position as Senior Lecturer in Law in 1989. From 1992 to 1995 he was a Senior Lecturer in Law at the City University of Hong Kong. Ken is currently a Senior Lecturer in Law and Sub-Dean of Law School at the University of Tasmania. Ken is also a published author here at LexisNexis.
