Modules covered are 1. Health and safety duties online training ; 2. Health and safety representation in the workplace online training and 3. Health and safety consultation in the workplace.
Upon completion of these modules, you should be able to:
• Explain the rationale for the introduction of the Model WHS Act to your clients and other stakeholders;
• Identify the principles that apply to health and safety duties under the Model WHS legislation;
• Describe how health and safety duties may be discharged, including the concept of what is "reasonably practicable"; and
• Provide an overview of the health and safety duties owed under the Model Act as they apply to persons conducting a business or undertaking, officers, and workers and other persons.
• Explain how health and safety representatives are elected;
• Identify the powers and functions of health and safety representatives;
• Outline the obligations of the PCBU relating to health and safety representatives;
• Provide an overview of ceasing unsafe work;
• Understand key considerations for the issue, review and obligations associated with provisional improvement notices; and
• Describe the establishment, consultation and functions of a health and safety committee.
• Explain the duty of the PCBU to consult workers;
• Describe the duty to consult with other duty holders;
• Provide an overview of obligations to establish and support health and safety committees; and
