    Sulmeyer, Irving


    Irving Sulmeyer (1927 - 2009) was the founder of the Los Angeles, California, firm of Sulmeyer Kupetz. He had been associated with the firm since 1954, working primarily in the areas of bankruptcy reorganization, insolvency and creditors' rights. He was a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy and a member of the Consumer Bankruptcy Committee of the American Bar Association. Mr. Sulmeyer was a contributing author to Collier Bankruptcy Practice Guide, co-author of the Collier Handbook for Trustees and Debtors in Possession, and author of the Collier Handbook for Creditors' Committees.

    Kupetz, David S.


    David S. Kupetz is a member of the Los Angeles, California, firm of SulmeyerKupetz. He joined the firm in 1986. He specializes in troubled transactions, crisis avoidance consultation, workouts, restructurings, reorganizations, bankruptcies, receiverships, assignments for the benefit of creditors and other nonbankruptcy insolvency proceedings. He represents debtors (in restructurings and workouts and in chapter 11 reorganization cases), secured creditors, unsecured creditors' committees, assignees for the benefit of creditors, buyer/sellers of businesses/assets and distressed circumstances and other entities in insolvency and bankruptcy situations.

    Mr. Kupetz has written many articles on bankruptcy and insolvency topics. He served as a contributing author to Collier Commercial Bankruptcy Forms for many years. Mr. Kupetz conducted his legal studies at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, from which he was awarded his J.D. in 1986. Mr. Kupetz was admitted to the California Bar in 1986.
