    Brian J. Caveney, MD, JD, MPH, Editor-in-Chief


    Brian J. Caveney, M.D., J.D., MPH is an Assistant Professor of Occupational & Environmental Medicine in the Department of Community and Family Medicine at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. He was the founding student of the MD/JD joint degree program at West Virginia University and received his Master's Degree in Public Health in Health Policy and Administration at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed his internship and residency training at the University of North Carolina and Duke University, and is board-certified by the American Board of Preventive Medicine in the specialty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.

    On the faculty at Duke, he provides clinical medical services both at Duke and at several industrial settings; and he provides workers' compensation, ADA, disability, case management, employee wellness and regulatory compliance consulting for several companies in the Research Triangle Park area. He is actively involved in teaching and advising medical students, residents and fellows in the Duke Occupational Medicine program, and serves as the division's director of quality improvement.

    An active member of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, he was recently the President of the Carolinas Occupational and Environmental Medicine Association, one of its component societies.
