    David E. Aaronson


    David E. Aaronson is a professor of law and B. J. Tennery Scholar at the Washington College of Law, American University, Washington, D.C., and serves as Director of its nationally recognized Trial Advocacy Program. His areas of specialization include criminal law and procedure, evidence, and criminal and civil trial advocacy. In 1975, he published Maryland's first book of pattern criminal jury instructions and commentary on Maryland criminal law, followed by a second edition in 1988, and a third edition in 2009. He is an elected member of the American Law Institute. Professor Aaronson received his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. (economics) from George Washington University. He received an LL.B from Harvard Law School and an LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center.
