    John R. Maley


    John R. Maley, a partner resident in Barnes & Thornburg's Indianapolis office, concentrates on litigation, employment law, and appellate practice for business, government, and individual clients. He is Chair of Barnes & Thornburg's 45-attorney Appellate Practice Group. He litigates a wide array of matters in federal and state courts, representing clients at all stages of the process. Mr. Maley regularly represents several Fortune 500 companies in national litigation throughout the United States. He also served as lead counsel in appeals in the Indiana Supreme Court, Indiana Court of Appeals, and the Sixth, Seventh, Eighth, and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeals. He has published numerous law review articles on civil practice, is the originator and author of a regular column on federal practice in the Indiana Lawyer, and lectures frequently on civil practice and procedure. He lectures on appellate practice for the Indianapolis Bar Association's Indiana Bar Review and has served as an Adjunct Lecturer at Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis. His many civic activities include service as President of the Indianapolis Bar Association (2002), Chair of the Local Rules Committee, S.D. of Indiana, member of the Local Rules Committee, N.D. of Indiana, Chair of the Marion County Local Rules Committee, and President of the Indianapolis Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. He is a Fellow of the Indianapolis and Indiana Bar Foundations.
