    Appleman, John Alan


    The late John Alan Appleman, long regarded as the nation's leading authority on insurance law, wrote his original 25-volume treatise from 1939-1947. From 1960-1981 Jean Appleman joined her father in producing a series of monumental revisions to the set. Beginning in 1996, another monumental revision began - creating a Second Edition to Appleman. Thus far, the 2d edition has 21 volumes authored by insurance scholar Eric Mills Holmes.
