    Cynthia (Cindy) Callahan


    Cynthia (Cindy) Callahan is an associate Judge of the Circuit Court for Montgomery County Maryland. Prior to her appointment, her practice was focused on family law for 25 years. Just prior to her appointment to the bench in 2009, Judge Callahan was named as a Super Lawyers' Top Ten Lawyer in both Maryland and Washington, D.C. She was the managing partner of Dragga, Callahan, Hannon, Hessler & Wills, L.L.P. from 1998 until her appointment. Judge Callahan is a Past Chair of the Maryland State Bar Association Family and Juvenile Law Section, a Past President of the Montgomery Inn of the American Inns of Court, an elected Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers since 2002, and a Life Fellow of both the Montgomery County and Maryland State Bar Associations. She also serves as a co-author of Fader's Maryland Family Law, 5th Edition 2011 (LexisNexis). Judge Callahan is a graduate of St. Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana (cum laude 1977) and Catholic University, Columbus School of Law, Washington, DC (J.D. 1981).

    Thomas C. Ries


    Thomas C. Ries practices exclusively in the area of divorce and family law. He is a graduate of Emory University (B.A. 1976) and the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law (J.D. with Honors 1979). Since 1990, Mr. Ries has been a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and served as President of the AAML's Maryland Chapter from 2003 to 2005. He is currently Co-Chair of the AAML Institute for Family Law Associates. He is a former Chair of the Family Law Section of both the Maryland State Bar Association and the Bar Association of Baltimore City. Mr. Ries has been honored in The Best Lawyers in America® (Copyright by Woodward/White, Inc.) as one of the leading attorneys in both Family Law and Family Law Mediation. He has been the Official Reporter for Maryland in the ABA Family Law Quarterly, "Law in the Fifty States" annual survey of family law since 1995. He is the co-author of Fader's Maryland Family Law, 5th Edition 2011 (LexisNexis).
