    L Ed 2d is a complete enhanced reporter of U.S. Supreme Court decisions since 1956 with convenient special research features not found in the official United States Reports.

    Decisions prior to 1956 are reported in the L Ed 1st.

    New decisions are initially released via the Advance Sheet Service, including the full text of decisions and orders, syllabi, names of counsel, as well as our exclusive summaries, headnotes, research references, and other materials. New volumes of the L Ed 2d are created from the Advance Sheets at the rate of approximately 3 per year, and contain the court's final corrections, subject-specific annotations prepared by LexisNexis attorneys, parallel reference tables, citations and page breaks for the official United States Reports, annotation indexing, and summarized counsel briefs. Annual supplements update case and statutory annotations and provide a citator.
