    Levy, Jon David


    Hon. Jon D. Levy is a Maine District Court Judge and Chairman of the Maine Family Law Advisory Commission. Prior to joining the bench in 1995, Judge Levy for 14 years conducted a private law practice in York that emphasized family law. Before that he served on the staffs of two U.S. District Court judges - John T. Copenhaver, Jr., and William W. Justice. He is an officer of the Maine Trial Judges Association, a member of the National Conference of State Court Trial Judges, the American Bar Association, and the Maine State Bar Association, and is a Past President of the York County Bar Association. A frequent speaker at training and Continuing Legal Education programs for family law attorneys and mediators, Judge Levy received his J.D. from the West Virginia University College of Law, where he was an editor of the law review and elected to Order of the Coif, and a B.S. from the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
