Bender's Federal Practice Forms provides the most comprehensive set of forms available on the market. All of the civil, criminal, and appellate forms are up-to-date. They are reviewed and revised on a period basis to comply with all amendments to controlling procedural rules, and comply with the standards of practice in federal courts generally. For example, this set has hundreds of examples of complaints on virtually every type of claim that might be asserted in or removed to federal court. These have been collected over the years and conformed to current standards from a wide variety of cases actually brought in federal court. On the other hand, there are forms illustrating how to invoke the latest procedures, such as permissive interlocutory appeals of class action certification decisions, or remand decisions in cases brought under the Class Action Fairness Act. The set covers current topics, such as electronic discovery and discovery agreements and court orders taking advantage of newly adopted Evidence Rule 502.
The forms in the set are easy to find. All of the forms are organized into chapters based on a controlling procedural rule. Each such chapter has a detailed synopsis in showing how and where in the chapter the forms are located. The set is fully indexed, and has a Table of Statutes to provide alternative means of locating exactly the type of form desired.
The forms in the set are easy to use. Blanks in the forms are followed by a brief description of the type of information expected to be inserted. In addition, each chapter begins with a brief, Moore's-derived analysis of the controlling procedural law applicable to the forms in the chapters, but that is focused on the types of practical questions likely to be faced by practitioners using the forms. The types of local rules that provided deviations from or variations on the national practice are pointed out and explained.
This set provides a complete range of litigation forms needed for civil or criminal practice in any federal court, from federal district courts through the United States Courts of Appeals, and including the Supreme Court of the United States.
