In Enmon v. Prospect Capital Corp., 675 F.3d 138, 2012 U.S. App. LEXIS 6986 (2d Cir. Apr. 6, 2012), the Second Circuit ruled that a district court may, pursuant to either its inherent authority or its authority under 28 U.S.C. § 1927, impose sanctions on a law firm, as well as on individual attorneys, for unreasonably and vexatiously multiplying proceedings.
