    The Obama administration's decision not to argue for the Defense of Marriage Act raises the question of what difference it makes to immigration rights if DOMA is removed from the U.S. Code. Jordana Lynne Mosten has written on this issue, and explains that whatever changes there are may not last.

     

    Jordana Lynne Mosten is an attorney licensed in California. She is currently serving as a law clerk for a federal district court judge. Ms. Mosten received her J.D. from Stanford Law School (with pro bono distinction) and her B.A. (phi beta kappa) from Rice University. While at Stanford, Ms. Mosten focused on human rights, civil rights, and immigration law. She participated in the International Human Rights Clinic and completed several internships: ACLU-Immigrants' Rights Project, ACLU of Southern California, MALDEF, and Community Legal Services Center of East Palo Alto, where she was an Equal Justice America Fellow. Ms. Mosten served as a research assistant for Jayashri Srikantiah, Professor of Law and Director of Stanford's Immigrants' Rights Clinic. Ms. Mosten authored a Note on DOMA and same-sex marriage immigration published in the Stanford Law and Policy Review, and she served as Development Editor for the Stanford Journal of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties.
