    When a health care provider accepts less than its billed amount as full payment for the services it provided to a patient, the collateral source rule prohibits introduction of evidence about the amount of that lower payment. Jurors would likely infer that a collateral source had been involved, and this inference could lead a jury to reduce a plaintiff's damages award improperly.
