    Marc M. Seltzer


    Marc M. Seltzer is partner of Susman Godfrey L.L.P. and a member of the firm's Executive Committee. Prior to joining Susman Godfrey L.L.P., he was a partner in the law firm of Corinblit & Seltzer, a Professional Corporation, for more than 20 years. He has concentrated his practice in the prosecution and defense of complex business law cases, with a strong emphasis on antitrust, securities, corporate, and financial institution law. He is a frequent lecturer on class actions and other complex litigation.

    Mr. Seltzer serves on the Executive Committee of the Antitrust and Unfair Competition Law Section of the State Bar of California. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Ninth Judicial Circuit Historical Society and the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles. He is a member of the Board of Editors of Class Action Reports. In 1985, Mr. Seltzer was elected to the membership of the American Law Institute. He is also a member of the Selden Society. In 1972 and 1973, he was a Deputy Attorney General for the State of California specializing in handling criminal appeals.

    Mary Jo Shartsis


    Mary Jo Shartsis is one of the founding partners of the firm Shartsis Friese LLP, San Francisco. She specializes in general business litigation. In June 2003, Ms. Shartsis was chosen as one of the top 50 women litigators in California by the Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal. A substantial portion of her experience is in federal court, and she served as lawyer representative to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference from 1994 to 1997. Ms. Shartsis is past chair of the Litigation Section of the Bar Association of San Francisco. She received her J.D. from Boalt Hall (University of California) in 1972.

    Leonard B. Simon


    Leonard B. Simon is a Partner in the San Diego office of Milberg Weiss Bershad Hynes and Lerach and a member of the firm's Executive Committee. He has been engaged in the practice of complex litigation for more than 25 years. Mr. Simon is a Master in the American Inns of Court, a Judge Pro Tem for the San Diego Superior Court, on the Board of Advisors of the San Diego Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, and a frequent lecturer on complex litigation.

    Ann Taylor Schwing


    Ann Taylor Schwing is an attorney in Sacramento, California, of counsel to McDonough, Holland & Allen since 1986. She clerked for Chief Judge Thomas J. MacBride of the United States District Court, Eastern District of California from 1977 through 1980. From 1984 through 1987, she was a member of the California State Bar Standing Committee on Rules and Procedures of Court and served as Chair of that Committee in 1986-1987.

    Ms. Schwing is active in the Anthony M. Kennedy Inn of Court and serves on its Executive Committee (1989-present). She is a two-term member of the Board of Trustees of The Land Trust of Napa County and was its president from 1998-2001. She is a member of the Ninth Circuit Task Force on Self-Represented Litigants (2003-2006) and a member of and reporter for the Judicial Advisory Committee of the Eastern District of California. She was a member of the Ninth Circuit Advisory Board (2000-2003). She has served as a lawyer delegate to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference and as a member of and reporter for the Civil Justice Reform Act Committee for the Eastern District of California.
