    Stein, Robert A.


    Robert A. Stein is Executive Director of the American Bar Association. He manages staff operations, recommends strategies and operational plans to the ABA and its policy making bodies, and implements the programs and procedures adopted by the ABA's Board of Governors and House of Delegates. Prior to assuming his current responsibilities, Mr. Stein was for 15 years the Dean of the University of Minnesota Law School. Listed in Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who in American Education, he has held leadership positions in the ABA, the American Bar Foundation, the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws, the American Law Institute, the Minnesota State Bar Association, and many other law-related organizations. Also formerly Of Counsel to the law firm of Gray, Plant, Mooty, Mooty & Bennett in Minneapolis, Mr. Stein received a B.S.L from the University of Minnesota. He continued his education at the University's Law School, earning his J.D. summa cum laude, gaining election to the Order of the Coif, and serving as an Officer of the Minnesota Law Review.
