    Atkinson, Jeff


    Professor Atkinson is admitted to the bars of the State of Illinois and the United States Supreme Court. He has practiced law for 27 years. The United States Supreme Court and the supreme courts of eleven states have cited this treatise.

    Jeff Atkinson is a former chair and remains a member of the American Bar Association¿s Child Custody Committee. Professor Atkinson has served on the ABA Family Law Section Council and also as an ABA advisor to the National Conference on Commissioner of Uniform State Laws (NCCUSL), a group that drafts legislation on Family Law and other legal topics. He was the advisor to a NCCUSL drafting committee that revised the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction Act and created new procedures for expeditious enforcement of custody and visitation orders.

    At DePaul University College of Law and other law schools, Professor Atkinson has taught Family Law, Legal Ethics, and several Health Law subjects. He also serves as a professor reporter for the Illinois Judicial Conference, responsible for training Illinois judges in Family Law and Legal Ethics.

    The U.S. State Department appointed Professor Atkinson to serve as a U.S. Delegate to the Hague Conference on Private International Law for development of treaties pertaining to Health Care and Family Law.
