    Mack, Zella


    Zella Mack is eminently qualified to write this book. She has had wide experience in the work of the paralegal or legal assistant and legal secretary, both with private practitioners of law and the courts. She has a fine educational background and has for many years taught other legal aides. Mrs. Mack is a Certified Legal Assistant. She is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree. Mrs. Mack has had the opportunity of working in many types of law offices, ranging from partnerships to corporate law firms. She has been employed by some of the most prestigious law firms in the country such as Ropes & Gray in Boston; Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro in San Francisco; and the Sacramento firm of Mull & Pierce. The late Archibald M. Mull, Jr., was a past president of the State Bar of California; the late Justice Fred R. Pierce was a retired Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal, Third Appellate District. In San Francisco she also worked for the late Sidney L. Weinstock and Roger Anderson when they were associated. While she was in Boston with Ropes & Gray she was assigned to James Barr Ames, a retired senior partner with the firm. More recently Mrs. Mack was Judicial Secretary to Leonard M. Friedman, retired Associate Justice of the Court of Appeal of the State of California, Third Appellate District. She has also been employed in the office of the California Attorney General as secretary to Willard A. Shank, former Chief Assistant Attorney General, and former Chief Deputy Attorney General Charles A. Barrett.
