Stephen Yale-Loehr

Stephen Yale-Loehr is co-author of Immigration Law and Procedure, the leading 20 volume treatise on immigration law published by Matthew Bender. Stephen teaches immigration law as an adjunct professor at Cornell Law School. In 1994 and 1995 he was a Senior Associate (non-resident) for the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington, D.C., working on immigration policy issues. Until 1994, he was the Co-editor of Interpreter Releases and the Executive Editor of Immigration Briefings, two leading immigration newsletters published by Federal Publications. Until 1990, he was an adjunct professor at the Georgetown University Law Center teaching international trade law and immigration law. He holds a B.A. degree from Cornell University, and a J.D. degree, cum laude, from Cornell Law School, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Cornell International Law Journal. He clerked for Chief Judge Howard G. Munson of the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York. He is admitted to the bars of the State of New York and the District of Columbia, as well as to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a member of the New York State, District of Columbia, and Tompkins County Bar Associations, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

Stanley Mailman

Stanley Mailman, co-author of the Matthew Bender treatise, Immigration Law and Procedure, and of counsel to Satterlee Stephens Burke & Burke LLP, Stanley Mailman holds B.A. and J.D. degrees from Cornell University and a master's degree in international law from New York University. Mr. Mailman was an adjunct professor at St. John's University Law School, and lectures on a wide range of immigration topics for law school, bar associations, and continuing legal education programs nationwide. He has also been a frequent contributor to professional and scholarly journals and has written a column on immigration law for the New York Law Journal since 1976.

A past president of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and of the Consular Law Society, and a former member of the boards of the Lawyers Committee for Human Rights and the International Rescue Committee, Mr. Mailman now serves as a director of the American Foreign Law Association and a member of AILA's board of governors. Mr. Mailman's accomplishments in the field of immigration law have been recognized by awards from his colleagues in AILA and by annual listings in Who's Who in American Law and The Best Lawyers in America.
