Description

This course is required and is designed to teach the critical information needed to become a Time Matters® Certified Independent Consultant.

CIC Certification Training for Time Matters® consists of the following:


• Completion of four 2-hour eLearning web classes and associated homework on product functionality.
• Completion of a 2-day Implementation Workshop.
• Successful completion of associated product assessment with a passing score of 85% or higher within 60 days of training completion.



The Certified Independent Certification Course is open to those seeking both CIC certification and general certification. CIC certification is intended for those individuals whose primary business focus is consulting. An application and acceptance by LexisNexis, addition to a passing grade on the course exam, is required in order to participate in the CIC program. Before course registration can be confirmed, please submit the CIC application for approval. You will be contacted and advised as to your approval and course registration status within 5 days of submission.

CIC Certification consists of Time Matters Certification v12 eLearning modules 1-4, completion of a 2 day Implementation Workshop, and successful completion of associated product assessment with a passing score of 85% or higher within 60 days of training completion.


eLearning Modules include the following topics:

Module 1
Navigate the Time Matters using the toolbar or shortcuts.
Create and manage records.
Identify the functions of each Time Matters features.
Navigate and customize your Calendar.


Module 2
Distinguish the roles of Staff and Users in the Time Matters software.
Create a Staff identifier and User ID.
Identify types of searches in the software.
Perform functions of Database sub-menus.
Utilize Journal tools.
Identify different uses of Classification Codes.


Module 3
Customize forms.
Identify and customize three levels of form tabs.
Create reports.
Manage documents.


Module 4
Navigate the Time Matters E-mail using the toolbar or shortcuts.
Create and manage internal and external e-mails.
Identify the functions of each e-mail features.
Know how to schedule tasks.
Create triggers for events.
Archive Time Matters records.


2-day Implementation Workshop

• Perform processes and best practices associated with Time Matters features and functions.
• Respond to clients’ questions related to Time Matters, and perform other client support activities.


Implementation Process

• Explain elements of Security to consider.
• Use security-related functions, and select appropriate values to use when modifying Security Settings.
• Utilize tools and functions that allow you to modify locations and names of documents/folders in an existing system during a Time Matters install.
• Identify various approaches to e-mail setup.
• Apply guidelines and best practices for synchronization.
Customization Considerations
• Establish a set of Classification Codes.
• Explain consequences of changing the layout, and other aspects of various forms.
• Set up a trigger.
• Explain the relationship between a trigger and chain.
• Identify mistakes related to various triggers.
• Identify different types of User Defined Records.
• Activate the Power View feature.
• Explain uses of Feature Packages.
